Accepting Zaishen Quest rewards
Hmm this may be a stupid question, but
How do I choose which quest to accept the reward for? I haven't finished my TA one as I still need a few more wins for the second bonus; however, I do want to turn my JQ one and various PvE ones in. Unfortunately when I click on the reward guy, he only offers me the reward for the TA quest. |

There doesn't seem to be a way to choose. This happened to me today also.
I had 5 wins on the Jade Quarry Combat and wanted to get the top bonus for 9 wins. I completed today's Boss Kill quest and when I went to collect the reward the Jade Quarry one was all that was offered. Until I took the reward for the partially completed Jade Quarry quest, I could not claim the reward for the Commander Wahli boss kill. Is this a bug or deliberate or just an oversight?

Yeah, this is pretty annoying. They should offer the rewards in order from most complete to least complete. That way we can take our time with the more demanding ones.

Yep, I couldn't choose. I had to hand in my AB quest so I could claim my Commander Wahli reward. Thank heavens I also have the AB quest on my PVP character. I was taking my time with the last bonus because of terrible waiting times.

yes it is a design flaw.
And this would happen too (but less) if the quest giver was the reward giver. Would be usefull if rewards from fully completed quests was offered first followed by most recently modified quests, so after each level of completion of a quest a player can choose to go take its reward or not. |

Or you can just take a quest and finish it, then take the other one. This is what happens whenever you take multiple quests from a single NPC.

I still got a decent reward, so I'm not going to complain - just pointing out that it doesn't go very well with the fact that you can accept quests and keep them to complete all the bonuses over a few days. |

It would be nice if it accepted like the signs give out.
If you have a quest, and look to get the new one, it has something like: ! Kill the drake in unwaking ? You still didn't kill Rragar you procrastinator? That way it looks like this. ! Would you like to claim your reward for: Zerging a helpless drake ! Would you like to claim your reward for: Killing Rragar in NM only you wuss |

Actually, this is pretty much the way it is with all quest reward givers. Most of the time you just don't notice that it's a fixed order because you want all the rewards. It's not a bug, it's just the way it works. However, saying that, it would be nice if the choice was there.

I realize that it has always been that way. But this is the first time that we have had multi-level rewards for quests. The only other multi-levels are missions, but you are able to re-do the mission to get the increased reward.
I pm'd Regina the other day with a link to this thread. I don't know if that will accomplish anything, but was worth a try. I think it was an oversight on the devs part. We can hope for a fix sometime in the future.

Right now you can't choose which quest that you want to accept the reward for. Our programmer, Joe, is investigating the issue.

Anyone know how many we can "hold" in the Quest Log. Or how long the quests will stay Valid for?

Regina, thank you for the response. It is greatly appreciated. I am pleased that this was unintentional and hope a solution won't be complicated.

Hmmm... I thought this might have been intentional (to encourage people to actually turn in the quests so that it doesn't defeat the point of having dailies by having people gradually spread out over time working on completing old ones).
Eh, either way. I don't think this is that pressing of an issue because for the most part, you can get all the PvE bonuses at the same time you complete the main one (especially the bounties, you either do it in HM and complete the bonus and the normal quest at the same time, or you don't). |

I'm waiting until three RA bounties roll around - that's the only way you're ever going to get me into that sink of bohemian depravity (uh, whut?)
...hmm, hang on a minute - am I being manipulated?

If they wanted to make sure you did the daily quests and didn't drag them out they would have made it only one quest of each type allowed in your log.
Yes, Snog, you are. They are making things fun again and making you want to do things you swore you wouldn't. Areas are crowded and I keep noticing ones who post in guru saying how bored they are.

the design flaw is that the 'completion' of a quest prioritizes over any other dialog.
so can't you just add an additional dialog objective before completion of quest? i.e. Random Arena (Zaishen Quest) Objectives -Win 5 battles in Random Arena -*BONUS* 5 battles in a row in Random Arena. -*BONUS* Win 15 battles in Random Arena. -Speak to Zenchu to complete the quest. this way, the quest is flagged as incomplete until you speak to zenchu specifically about "? Random Arena (Zaishen Quest)" Last edited by snaek; May 02, 2009 at 06:39 AM // 06:39.. |
